This is the stuff from Alan Cox, GW4PTS. It's got ALPHA stamped
all over it, but it works without a hitch! Excellent work Alan!
I've compiled up a 0.99pl14t kernel with his AX.25 extension in, and included
his example client binaries. The base source code for the kernel is on
nic.funet.fi pub/OS/Linux/PEOPLE/Linus
The patches for the AX.25 stuff is on
sunacm.swan.ac.uk pub/Linux/AX25007
Now, I've managed to get pl14p through pl14t to compile, but the 14t stuff
is the most stable. New versions are released almost daily, so give some
of the new stuff a try if you are so inclined.
The file AX.25.zImage.99pl14t is the kernel. Remember to set the
root device with rdev if you dd it to a floppy. It's a fairly large
kernel, it's got a lot of network cards in it. No SCSI, though.
The file /etc/rc.ax25 if an example start up script. *Change the
call signs and IP addresses PLEASE* Also change the file
/usr/local/ax25/etc/ports. It contains the call signs and baud
rates (not the radio speed, the KISS link speed), as well as some
other info.
Check out the file /usr/local/ax25/README. That one is from Alan's
original distribution. It explains how to use the example app's.
If you want the source for any of this, look on the servers I list
above.
Also in the kernel, I've put in a patch for the pc speaker. You can
use it to play wav files and such not. Use the script pscpinstall to
create the device links, and the pgm vplay to play stuff
eg. vplay andnow.wav
